Royal seal of approval for Melton pre-school group
Oasis Family Centre, which is based on Asfordby Road, was commended for its ‘wonderful work’ in a letter from the Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Mike Kapur OBE, The Queen’s personal representative in Leicestershire.
It gives ‘personal thanks and appreciation for being such an example to others’ and concludes ‘very many thanks for all that you are doing to help our local community get through the coronavirus pandemic’.

Hide AdThe letter was warmly welcomed by Mowbray Education Trust, which manages the nursery, which has remained open for children regarded as vulnerable and those from keyworker families throughout the various lockdowns.
Trust CEO, Christine Stansfield, told the Melton Times: “I whole heartedly applaud the action of the Lord-Lieutenant in acknowledging the remarkable work of the Oasis nursery.
“I could not be more proud of the work of Victoria Conyers and her team.
“They have worked tirelessly to support children and their families throughout the pandemic and have made such a difference to the community.
“I would like to thank them, and all our school settings, for the heroics they have shown over the last year or so.”
