Melton bin collection teams touched by residents’ gratitude
Householders have left cards and gifts for the Biffa teams as they have maintained an essential service at a time when loads have been greater with people spending more time at home.
Melton Borough Council leader Joe Orson thanked the bin collection teams at a recent council meeting and revealed that residents had left thank you cards and chocolates as a mark of their gratitude.

Hide AdDeputy leader, Councillor Leigh Higgins, told the same meeting: “It is fantastic that our collection teams have continued with a full service when some councils haven’t managed to during this lockdown period.”
A spokesperson for Biffa, which runs the service for the council, told the Melton Times: “We would like to thank all our key workers who have done an exceptional job during the past few months to keep our streets clean and our communities safe.
“The team in Melton have gone above and beyond to ensure the community is looked after and it is great to see our front line workers being recognised for all their hard work.”
