The Welby welcomed dozens of visitors through its doors to take part.

Entertainment for people of all ages was put on with face painting and a bouncy castle set up for children.

Anyone feeling brave was able to enjoy a reptile show while a balloon modelling magician attended to make guests laugh.

A candy floss machine, barbecue and a Disney-themed quiz in the evening also added to the occasion.

Max Noad, general manager, said: “It was nice to give something back.

“My daughter has Down’s syndrome so we chose this charity to support. It’s a local cause as well.

“We raised £1,180, which is nearly double from last years event.”
