Melton area candidates announced for county council elections
Long-serving member Byron Rhodes will retire at the end of this term at County Hall, leaving the Belvoir Division open for a new representative.
And Melton West will also have a new councillor after Alan Pearson decided not to stand for re-elecion due to health issues.

Residents will be heading to polling stations next month to decide who will represent the district’s interests at County Hall over the next four years.
People in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland will also be asked to elect a new Police and Crime Commissioner for Leicestershire and Rutland, with current encumbent Lord Willy Bach standing down.
April 19 is the deadline to register to vote (April 20 for postal votes).
